D.W. Correll Museum
Take a walk into the past or perhaps down memory lane at the D.W. Correll Museum. You are sure to find something interesting, nostalgic and fascinating.
Main Building
The museum consists of two buildings. The main building has a beautiful, painted mural on the outside of the structure. The award-winning artist, Lance Hunter, was commissioned to paint the mural that honors the late D.W. Correll, the museum's benefactor and a beloved Catoosa resident. The brightly colored, attention-getting mural, is 8 feet tall and 72 feet wide. It shows a glimpse of the interesting collection of artifacts inside the museum.
Inside the main building, you will see a rare collection of rocks, gems, fossils and minerals displayed from around the world, including our world class fluorescent mineral display. There is an interesting assortment of seashells and coral, along with antique toys, diecast automobile models, an extensive collection of bottles and decanters, and our rock and gift shop.
Second Building
The second building is for the vintage car enthusiast. It houses antique automobiles restored by Mr. Correll, and other items of broad curiosity and antiquity such as the historical Texaco gas pump. Several antique carriages are on display such as the 1904 Concert Stage horse-drawn carriage. There is also a collection of antique toy tractors, cars, pickups, etc. on display that was donated by Dan Ward. The antique automobiles include:
- 1898 Locomobile (Steam Engine)
- 1902 Oldsmobile Run About
- 1906 Cadillac
- 1914 Dodge Touring Car
- 1914 Oldsmobile
- 1917 Twin 6 Packard
- 1919 Franklin
- 1926 Rolls-Royce
- 1927 Stutz 8
- 1930 Model A Ford Convertible
- 1935 Ford 4-Door
- 1948 Dodge Coupe
- 1957 Chevrolet 210
With such a varied collection of artifacts and other objects of historical, scientific, and artistic importance available for public viewing, the D.W. Correll Museum has something for everyone.

Field Trips
There are two types of field trips available at the DW Correll Museum.
- Free Museum Tour: This option is available to any groups of youths, such as schools, daycares, summer camps, scout groups, etc., as well as to senior centers, assisted living or nursing care facilities. This consists of a group tour of the museum, guided or unguided (your preference), and should be scheduled in advance with Museum staff.
- Geoscience Program: This option is available to any groups of youths, such
as schools, daycares, summer camps, scout groups, etc., and consists of a guided educational program with hands-on activities all about the Earth sciences and a tour of the museum collections. This program takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the number of students. Currently, we accept groups of 12 to 50 students per time slot, and the cost is $10 per student. Students will have fun learning, and each will have some small rocks, minerals and fossils they get to take home with them. This option should be scheduled in advance with Museum staff.
Car Club Cruises
If you are a member of a car club, and would like to arrange a cruise, contact Museum staff to schedule a date. We have an area available for club meetings (depending on number of attendees), and clubs may bring in food should you wish to do so, such as coffee and donuts for an early cruise, pizza for lunch, or even ice cream. Let us know what works for your club and we will try to accommodate you. Museum entry fees for cruises are the normal $3 for adults and $2 for seniors (under 18 is free), and this may be paid by individual cruisers or may be paid in a lump sum by the club.
